- Energy conservation is considered to be one of the key design challenges within resource constrained WSNs that leads the researchers to investigate energy efficient protocols with application specific challenges. The paper proposes a dynamic clustering scheme which is expected to evenly distribute energy demand and optimises the number of sensor nodes involved in event reporting. The dynamic property of the proposed framework makes it robust against time-varying behaviour of the propagation environment. From simulation results, it is observed that the proposed work enhances network lifetime as well as provides a trade-off model between network lifetime and transmission reliability.
