- This paper presents the first robust assessment of high temperature micro-scale finite element modelling with micro-scale strain measurements in steels deformed under conditions simulating industrial hot forging. The study has EPSRC funding (EP/F023464/, EP/E063497/1) and was supported by Tata Steel and directly underpinned two PhD projects, also sponsored by Tata Steel (contact: Scientific Fellow, Tata Steel). After publication this work resulted in an invited presentation at an international symposium honouring Prof. Frederic Barlat.
