- We believe this to be the first paper to consider optimising forensics techniques specifically for consumer solid state devices. The results show that subfile hashing techniques perform well, particularly on solid state media, decreasing investigation times while also retaining a high degree of discriminating power. Given the increased use of solid state devices this is a significant advance.
