- This significant paper demonstrated the implementation of wideband channel sounder for the wireless channel characterization for 5G use-cases. This work led to a further grant (two post-docs over 18 months, initially) from OFCOM, UK (A telecommunication regulatory body) to understand wider set of use-cases for 5G millimetre wave communication particularly to develop an understanding of weather effects on the 5G millimetre wave links. In addition, outcomes from this paper and OFCOM project were presented in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and updated various recommendations like ITU-R P1238 and P1411, relating both to indoor and outdoor environments.
