- Double-weighted statement
- This 268-page monograph is the result of ten years research, incorporating a broad range of sources including medical, scientific, cultural, archaeological, and literary texts. The research involved the scrutiny of manuscripts, requiring access to the restricted 'The Book of Margery Kempe' in the British Library. Through collaboration with the British Library’s Imaging Scientist, the research included examining dozens of multispectral images of a folio of particular interest and resulted in a near-full transcription of faded medieval handwriting. The research also required work in multiple languages – Middle English, Latin, French and Italian – some of which necessitated my own translations.
