- Double-weighted statement
- Set in London from 1984 to 1985, this historical novel is the product of over three years of research, writing, and editing. Particularly time-consuming was the research required to build a historical ‘time-line’ of London/Great Britain over the eighteenth-month time-period of the novel’s setting. This involved in-depth study of such events as the Brighton bombing of the Conservative Party conference, London Fashion week, the literary culture and prize-winning novels of the period, social security/unemployment legislation, and the specifics of ‘signing on’. Writing this realistic fiction required an accurate network of real schemata in order to assemble plot and develop characterisation.
