- The submitting author co-edited the volume, and co-authored the Preface and the introductions to the three Parts: she is sole author of Chapter 8 ('Waves of metaphor, waves of excitement', pp.115-136). (Output is not being submitted for either of the other editors). The volume stems from a major AHRC-funded project, ‘Mapping Metaphor with the Historical Thesaurus’ (2012-2015), building on a 2014 colloquium to explore the potential of the project’s digital output, the ‘Metaphor Map of English’ (113219). Individual chapters draw on the project’s original dataset to present an interdisciplinary case study of metaphor in one or more selected semantic domains. The submitting author was Principal Investigator of the Mapping Metaphor project, and co-editors were Co-I and PDRA, respectively.
