- National clinical audits (NCA) are used to support quality improvement in healthcare. This paper reports on the people, activities, contexts and technologies involved in use of audit data to support decision making. It highlights QualDash, a dashboard generation engine that we developed to support the visualization of NCA data. We deployed the QualDash tool in five NHS hospitals and collected evidence of its usefulness for real-world tasks through feedback from clinicians. We were invited to present this work at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit audit network’s annual meeting and at a research seminar at University of York.
