- Challenging the notion of a depoliticized transnationalized Latin American cinema, New Transnationalisms in Contemporary Latin American Cinema is underpinned by extensive research and analysis of changing industrial, funding and textual trends in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. Research was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and by a Visiting Fellowship at the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies at American University. The book (112,000-words) draws together industry and funding data, textual and theoretical perspectives of key films to bring a new perspective to the Latin American mediascape and the films of its transnational auteurs.
