- This is the first paper to create subject-specific computer models to investigate the effects of performing a particular surgical operation in slightly different ways to determine the optimal surgical procedure for each patient. The paper was widely presented at national/international conferences, and at NHS Patient Forums. It involved an international (Brigham Young University, University of Oxford) and multidisciplinary collaboration between engineers, NHS consultants/surgeons, and radiographers. The study has 9 citations so far.
