- Double-weighted statement
- Incisive comment on the existing scholarship is evident throughout the text and the author has clearly seized on the opportunity for further breadth which the longer work affords, developing comparative insights and more textured commentary than shorter submissions would permit. An impressive range of material across British, Irish, and Continental European archives has been consulted. The work as a whole explores a wide array of themes suitable to a study of this length (222 pp.). It therefore seems to merit a double-weighted submission.
