- This paper results from an EPSRC GCRF collaborative project (EP/P029280/1) with the University of St Andrews and Robert Gordon University and University of Ceara, Brazil, to develop the first photocatalytic reactor which could be deployed for cyanotoxin removal directly in lakes. This paper specifically reports the development of pods containing integral LEDs for deployment of the photocatalysts directly into lakes and reservoirs and is the first report of in-situ application of photocatalysis. A water company (Cogerh) in Fortaleza is now looking at implementation of the process (http://portal.cogerh.com.br/acude-gaviao-recebe-experimento-pioneiro-que-melhora-qualidade-da-agua/.)
