- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph of over 300pp. is the first and only existing history of a decade which saw the independent production of roughly one thousand sex exploitation films released in the US market by an independent cottage industry that emerged in the period. It represents over ten years of archival research into the films, their regulation and reception, and draws on research at state, local and federal archives across the US. The corpus of films spans hundreds of film works rarely discussed and largely unknown in film studies. The methodology spans multiple subfields and disciplines and the approaches are equally wide-ranging.
