- This is the first time hyper-heuristics have been applied to find efficient travelling routes for vehicles in a public transportation system. Our new approach outperforms other state-of-the-art methods, and run times are much improved over rival methods. The paper led to collaboration with the University of Nottingham and VISUM (a leading commercial public transport software package).
