- One of the journal of Wind Engineering & Industrial Aerodynamics’ most downloaded papers, this output (http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jweia.2014.12.003) was pivotal in leading to the codification of a hitherto a highly theoretical problem. As such, it significantly influenced the thinking of an ASCE 7-10 working group, resulting in the structural codification of the effects of downburst winds. Many wind loading codes are based on ASCE 7-10, thus ensuring that the impact of this research will be worldwide. The output resulted in a major EPSRC-funded collaboration between the University of Birmingham, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Texas Tech University (EP/J008281/1).
