- The presented work advances the field of Sound insulation with applications to the Automotive and Aerospace materials. The method developed focuses on the case where the MPP is coupled to an air cavity before a rigid wall. The work not only reveals the ambiguity problem that exists between the MPP thickness and the open area ratio for simultaneous inversion of parameters, but it suggests a technique to solve it. This contributes to the effective design of sound insulation materials necessary to meet the requirement criteria for sound reduction in the environment.
