- "The significance here is two-fold: first, the work constrains mechanistic accounts of psychological expectations affect perception; second, it constrains theories on the role of alpha rhythms by showing they bias rather than improve perception. Both points have been independently replicated and built-upon to reveal that bias versus perception effects operate at different oscillatory frequencies [1-3].
Significance is further evidenced by ""highly influential"" status on five papers (SemanticScholar, e.g. [4,5]), inclusion in high-impact reviews [6-8], and being 94th percentile most cited for Cognitive Neuroscience (Scopus).
