- Double-weighted statement
- This is an extensive output and the double-weighting request reflects that it is the product of several years of research over and above the time in which its kernel was first submitted (in 2006) as the author’s PhD. Because of its double focus on both the content of Simonides’ work and on his reception (the first and second halves could each be made into a monograph in its own right) it is very wide-ranging in coverage of sources, from Homer to Theocritus to Quintilian.
