- This paper proposes a solution for optimal placement of relay nodes in wireless sensor networks in the two-tiered topology model. It is the first work that considers physical-layer realistic wireless communications parameters in this problem. This has been analysed and compared to state-of-the-art solutions, and the results show clear improvement in all performance metrics. This work is related to international collaboration with Alto university, Finland, and NTNU Norway.
