- A new method was developed for the combined analysis of electricity and heat networks. It established a fundamental method to integrate electrical-hydraulic-thermal calculations in multi-vector energy research. The research analysed the campus energy system at University of Warwick as reported by the Energy System Manager and analysed a paper mill in Austria (https://www.magnitude-project.eu/case-studies/). The work led to the EU project MAGNITUDE (https://www.magnitude-project.eu/, €248k) and a RCUK UKERC Phase 4 project (https://ukerc.ac.uk/, £450k). This work was the basis of an invited speech “Future Energy Supply Networks” to the National Assembly for Wales in 2018 (https://business.senedd.wales/documents/s79403/Minutes of 13 June 2018.pdf).
