- This paper significantly enhanced the state of the art for prediction of airborne piston-slapping noise through a lubricated contact using a unique EHL tribodynamic model. The findings were utilised in an EPSRC-funded program grant, Encyclopaedic (Grant Ref. No. EP/G012334) with an industrial consortium, comprising Aston Martin Lagonda, BP-Castrol and Capricorn Automotive. It also led to follow-up funding from Capricorn Automotive.
