- This research was performed in collaboration with Sasol Technology (UK) and aligns with their studies in carbon capture. Our results have inspired other novel research projects, for example, the preparation of similar scandium complexes also showing Frustrated Lone Pair behaviour, the catalytic formation of cyclic carbonates from CO2 and oxiranes, etc; and influenced further work supported by the EPSRC (EP/J018090/1, £ 337,697). This research has also contributed to the design of a PhD project aimed at hydrogen storage applications, which aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy”.
