- The original ship detector has already demonstrated its significance in the further developments that followed its publication. In 2017 a collaboration agreement was signed between authors and Airbus UK to take the ship detector to an operational environment, following which the algorithm was brought to TLR 7. This research has also led to an additional subcontract from SSTL to support Department of Science and Technology in the Philippines in the education of maritime surveillance with SAR for the total value of £99,753.
