- Green Documentary offers a book-length analysis of an internationally developing body of work in documentary filmmaking on the environmental crisis. It is the outcome of an extended period of research into a complex phenomenon at the end of the 1990s and into the first two decades of the 2000s. The collection of primary material involved attendance at rare screenings and film festivals during a period of transition from analogue to digital distribution. The secondary material to develop an appropriate analysis ranged from documentary studies to environmental communication, to political theory, and work in literary ecocriticism.
