- The paper describes the CloudSME Simulation Platform, a generic multi-cloud environment developed in the CloudSME EU funded project to support the development and execution of a wide range of commercial simulation applications utilising cloud computing resources. The results of the paper have been applied by 86 companies from over 20 European countries generating significant economic impact in three EU funded projects. The above statements can be evidenced at the relevant project websites (http://www.cloudsme-project.eu/, https://www.cloudifacturing.eu/, https://project-cola.eu/), and via the CEO of start-up company CloudSME UG that was established in 2016 to exploit the platform (Andreas Ocklenburg – andreas.ocklenburg@cloudsme.eu).
