- This 215-page monograph is the first detailed study of the cultural representations of the East African Gujarati community in Britain. It is the result of five years sustained research involving the collection and analysis of a large body of unpublished archival, digital, and oral history material. The primary sources (including cultural practices and oral history recordings) were widely dispersed and disaggregated, and therefore required considerable research time to gather, quantify and analyse systematically. The resulting monograph provides an in-depth analysis of a hitherto unexplored area in Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies from a range of interdisciplinary perspectives.
