- This paper studies an extension of fractional Fourier transforms which play an important role in both quantum computation and signal processing. This paper is significant because the work generalizes the traditional concept of phase space and provides interesting interpolation between known quantities, also the structure of these transforms is analysed using the mathematical formalism of groupoids. The paper is part of the PhD thesis of the first author, which has now been successfully completed. Material related to this paper has been presented at the 30th international colloquium on group theoretical methods in physics , in Ghent in 2015.
