- Islam on Campus is the primary publication emerging from an AHRC funded 3-year research project conducted by academics at four UK universities. It is based on the UK’s most extensive empirical study of the status of Islam and experiences of Muslims within UK Higher Education, encompassing a national survey of 2,000 students and qualitative research at 6 case study campuses, where interviews and focus groups captured conversations with 253 staff and students. This 100,000 word book examines pedagogical and cultural dimensions of HE, exploring how Islam and Muslims emerge as its ‘religious other’ and how universities maintain this status.
