- English abstract
- Publication language is German. This is the second of planned four volumes providing a new commentary and translation of Dionysius of Halicarnassus’s Early Roman History, which is central to scholarship on early Roman history, Augustan historical culture and Graeco-Roman cultural exchange. This is the first time the entirety of Dionysius' work has been so treated. The introduction and commentary consider textual-critical, literary, linguistic, and historical aspects. The principal language is German, with substantial quotations from ancient Greek, some Latin and occasional passages in English, French and Italian. Volume 2 covers books 4-6.
