- Shown in later papers to be performing at state-of-the-art on very large permutation flowshop problems, RK-EDA has since achieved state-of-the-art performance on project scheduling problems. RK-EDA has been successfully incorporated in supply vessel fleet planning software for the oil-and-gas industry by RGU spin out PlanSea Ltd. (www.plansea.co.uk contact: jim@plansea.co.uk, Mr. James Cargill) with potential for significant savings and was featured on the OGTC industry YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9afzHcv8FeY). McCall jointly chairs the leading ECPERM workshop on permutation algorithms (https://gecco-2020.sigevo.org/index.html/Workshops#id_Evolutionary%20Computation%20for%20Permutation%20Problems). This work led to collaborative work (PhD project at RGU) with University of the Basque Country (https://www3.rgu.ac.uk/dmstaff/alza-santos-joan).
