- Sisterhood and After: An Oral History of the UK Women’s Liberation Movement 1968-present draws on the first national oral history of the UK Women’s Liberation Movement, produced by Jolly (and her team) for the British Library (supported by the Leverhulme Trust). Extensive research at six additional archives enables the work to counter abstracted, ideological and stereotypical versions of feminism and feminists. Its 120,000 words build upon feminist theory’s affiliation with oral history and navigates narrative structure and memory to explore networks, alliances and disputes across race, class, gender and sexuality, whilst encouraging intergenerational exchange to bolster activists addressing contemporary challenges.
