- The output is based on an extensive range of archival materials, including trial documents discovered by the author in the Fondo Filastò at the Resistance Institute in Florence. It reconstructs the complex judicial vicissitudes of the Piedmontese partisan leader Franco Moranino, elected a communist party deputy in the post-war era and accused of ordering the execution of rival partisans and their wives during the Resistance period. The output places this episode, and its judicial outcome, within the Cold War battle over the memory of the Resistance.
