- This is the first paper to introduce annotations for rule-based models. Misirli and Cavaliere developed this annotation standardisation framework for rule-based models (EP/J02175X/1). Complementing modelling languages such as Kappa and BioNetGen, the framework supports automated analysis, composition and visualisation of rule-based models. Use of the frameworkincludes development of a compiler to modularly compose genetic circuits (https://doi.org/gfnk2g). The research informs the unification of annotations across biological models (https://doi.org/fgkc).
