- Additional information
- This volume arose from an AHRC-funded research project devised and led by Putter as PI. Putter was lead editor of the volume, singly responsible for its conception and for the commissioning of all contributions. He is the sole author of chapter 4, 'The Singing of Medieval Romance' (8870 words), which is the first study to connect verse-form with the performance history of Middle English romances. With Dr Jefferson, he was jointly (50%) responsible for editing the other 10 essays, and co-wrote (40%) the Introduction (pp. 1-14).
