- The protocol developed could benefit the environment as a result of the significantly prolonged battery lifetime (longevity), hence leading to energy aware (green) IoT devices. Following the work, Abegunde has secured a position as systems security manager in the cyber security sector, and Xiao has joined King’s College London as a Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity and is exploring opportunities to secure research funding to implement the new MAC protocol in IoT devices and to experimentally evaluate it.
