- This paper offers a novel decentralised scheduling operation using agent-based modelling, where scheduling goals and preferences by individual manufacturers can be expressed within a collaborative manufacturing network whilst maintaining complete control of their scheduling operation. The outcome of the research will have significant impact on individual scheduling efficiencies of a multi-manufacturer supply chain or network including SMEs in terms of cost and available capabilities. The project was supported by GFM S.P.A. (Gandini Holding, Italy) where the results will inform their production management of gas and steam turbines for the power industry (Head of Quality Management System, Gandini Holding).
