- Double-weighted statement
- This is a thoroughly researched and original book that is argued in coherent detail, making extensive use of theoretical and media analysis (including social media). The focus on public pedagogy as a lens to understand the rise of populist politics, in a detailed and contemporary way, in the US, is developed. It resulted from over a year of theoretical and media analysis of the agenda and rhetoric of Trump and right-wing groups, along with further analyses of left-wing and socialist groups that could offer resistance. It also underwent considerable consultation and commenting with other leading scholars in this field.
