- This paper, awarded an honourable mention at CHI'19 (https://chi2019.acm.org/2019/03/15/chi-2019-best-papers-honourable-mentions/), presents the first mediography of VR nonfiction. Since launching has catalogued 603 pieces and has had 8933 views. The web-based frontend to the mediography database provides analytics and an interactive timeline allowing users to examine how it is developing and where it is heading. This work led us to recognise gaps in VR nonfiction production so we developed Waiting Room VR (https://vimeo.com/365943720) with Victoria Mapplebeck (https://victoriamapplebeck.com/films/the-waiting-room-vr/) which premiered at Venice Film Festival (https://www.labiennale.org/en/cinema/2019/venice-virtual-reality), won IDFA Award for Digital Storytelling (https://www.idfa.nl/en/info/jury-report-idfa-doclab-competition-for-digital-storytelling-2019) and listed in Forbe's Top 50 XR experiences 2019 (https://www.forbes.com/sites/jessedamiani/2020/01/30/the-top-50-xr-experiences-of-2019/).
