- Double-weighted statement
- The monograph is the product of several years' research and writing. It analyses a range of film genres, most of which are under-researched in the Italian context, and thus each chapter offers a new critical, historical and theoretical discussion of a specific genre or mode in Italy, which are then read in the light of theories of masculinity, and of cultural studies. The book also offers discussion of individual stars, read in relation to particular genre, offering a new perspective on contemporary stardom in Italy. The scope, span, and depth of the book make it an appropriate candidate for double-weighting.
