- Outcome of TOTAL sponsored project (contact: Jianhui Yang, Research Reservoir Engineer at Total) 'In-situ contact angle determination directly from micro-CT images' that measures in-situ wettability using level set method with high resolution fluid-rock images. A model proposed in the paper led to collaborations on mechanism of CO2 storage and carbonated water flooding to enhance oil recovery (Dr. Sam Xie from Curtin University and Dr. Yongqiang Chen from University of Manchester). A new project to extend the approach to measure local capillarity is also under discussion with TOTAL.
