- This work impacts the state of the art as a new failure mode of thermal barrier coatings was identified which led to collaboration with Rolls Royce (Corporate Specialist Surface Engineering, Rolls Royce plc, Derby. This work was initially presented as an invited plenary lecture at the International Conference on Fracture,2017, and at the International Conference on Theoretical, Applied and Experimental Mechanics (2018).
