- Outcome of EPSRC Doctoral Training Account-funded PhD project 'The mechanical behaviour of sandwich panels with graded core'. Proposes a novel approach to three-dimensional modelling of sandwich panels with arbitrarily graded core'. Informs and enables optimisation of sandwich panels for aircraft, aerospace, naval/marine, construction and transportation applications, with a view to increase their resistance to delamination which is a major design concern. Underpins follow-up studies of sandwich panels with graded core at UoA and also internationally (e.g., National Taiwan University, Harbin University of Science and Technology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Indian Institute of Technology Madras).
