- Despite the importance of the increasing role that Islam plays within Italian society and culture, there has been no previous study in either Italian or English that examines the wealth of publications that have appeared since the beginning of the century on this topic and on Italy’s relation with the Islamic world. The monograph examines a corpus produced not only by writers but by intellectuals and journalists. Focussing on the cultural context in which each text is situated, the work contributes to the development of numerous disciplines such as Italian Studies, Modern Languages, and Cultural Studies.
