- Serial Forms: The Unfinished Project of Modernity 1815-1848 (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2020) is the product of more than a decade of research. This 120,000-word monograph involved extensive archival research, much of it on popular newspapers and magazines which are not digitized are only partly digitized. It synthesizes a large amount of data into a new and important formulation of early-nineteenth century culture and also suggests that a new version of social time is uninaugurated through print culture in this period. As well as literary scholars, the book will engage historians, art historians, and print and media historians.
