- This paper is now considered a classic work for its description of how to do model input-level dynamics for facial expression analysis. It has featured in many invited keynote lectures, including in the USA, China, Indonesia, Germany, and Australia. It is also a standard component in the (invited) lecture material and book made by Prof Valstar. The work has formed the basis of numerous new papers, both in the CS field as well as in the field of psychology (e.g. R. Jack et al. 'Dynamic Facial Expressions of Emotion Transmit an Evolving Hierarchy of Signals over Time‘).
