- This translation is the first complete rendering of an important and crucial Sanskrit text of a considerable length which had considerable impact on the historical formation of several Hindu traditions (particularly Vaiṣṇavism). The work is based and has been supported by a major research grant and been produced over a period of more than five years. It is based on a meticulous critical-philological and literary analysis of the Sanskrit root text the results of which have been published in a separate monograph-long study of the translator published elsewhere.
