- This monograph builds on doctoral research (2011-16), complemented by further analytical and statistical work from 2016-19. It provides the first empirical analysis of the jurisprudence of the CJEU in EU free movement law, drawing on an original data set comprising 247 judgments over four decades (1974-2013) and a total of over 4,500 observations. The results offer new insights on Member State autonomy, the division of judicial powers in the EU, and the evolution of the internal market. The research involved collaboration with scholars from other disciplines and presentation of findings at international research conferences.
