- Additional information
- Toby Green was the co-editor of this edited volume alongside Professor Patrick Chabal, who sadly died during the book's preparation. Becoming therefore the book's lead editor, he was the sole author of the book's Introduction and Conclusion, as well as of the first chapter of the book ( a total of c. 50 sole-authored pages). In addition to this, Green devised the chapter outline alongside Chabal, approached authors for inclusion, and then edited the texts for the book's production. On publication the book was reviewed in major international journals such as Foreign Affairs and The Conversation, as well as in the Journal of African History and other leading journals.
