- Double-weighted statement
- This is the first book to examine empirically British contemporary television drama production. It emerges from a sustained programme of original research conducted between 2011-2018.This includes analysis of public service broadcasters’ regions and nations policy relating to drama production, and international exchanges between sixty production studies scholars, commissioners, and producers across several European small nations. It makes a conceptual advance by revealing how drama production operates as simultaneously a global and regional industrial field. It draws on a large body of in-depth interviews with UK and international industry personnel placing cultural labour at the forefront of TV drama analysis.
