- Integrating security from the early stages of a software system’s development process is an essential step towards the understanding and mitigation of security vulnerabilities. This paper is significant because it presents a security-by-design method that allows, for the first time, to analyse security of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) across cyber and physical levels. The method provides the ability to feed information between design and real-time to enhance mitigation of attacks and is currently applied to IIoT infrastructures on Energy, Health Care and Maritime supply chains across three EU countries as part of the EU-funded CyberSANE project (grant agreement 833683).
